The Adventures Of Benjamin B

A cartoon music-education series I wrote when my son was young.  That’s him singing along with me!

BEST is to watch “Firefighter Benjamin”, and then listen to the outtakes (lower right corner).

I’m So Happy

Early childhood music for “Morning warm-ups” & “Brain breaks”.

This song came to me one day, and I began singing it to my son Harrison.  The melody was stuck in my head, so when I went swimming later that day, I finalized the lyrics during my laps.   I recorded it with just me singing.  The teachers at Harrison’s pre-K school began playing it during break-time.  And the music director loved it, and allowed me to have all 30-ish kids sing it while I recorded.

I Say Dis. And I Say Dat.

A week before my son Benjamin turned 2, I recorded him speaking the 31 words he knew. And I wrote and recorded this song. Then moments before his birthday, he learned a new word. I quickly edited the song to 32 words. The end is my favorite part.

For adults only:  I Want

I wrote this while driving to the gym (2 and 3/4 miles).  Kept singing it.  Got home and recorded it.  Had my friend Mike add some real guitar (I don’t play). And had my friend Ken sing (I can’t hold a tune good enough for this song).

For kids 🙂 The Pee Song

Ever been on a super long drive, in traffic, no rest stops ahead, and have to pee – badly? I was. And out came this song. Eventually got home, pee’d, and then recorded this.

This song is very catchy.  And very fun.  And very gross (you’ll see!).

For families 🙂 A New National Anthem

Religion is not supposed to affect government. Yet our anthem references g-d.  So I wrote a new anthem, without religious references. My friend Mike sang for me.

For my wife 🙂 Go To Sleep

My wife and I began a very late night, long drive home. She said she’d stay awake to keep me company while I drove.  Yet she fell asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot. I spontaneously sang this song. And recorded it soon after.

For my wife 🙂 Whose My Favorite Rabbit

One day my wife left me a voicemail from work; she was having a terrible day. I called back and spontaneously sang this song. I recorded soon after.

A short, melodic piano instrumental, using just a few iterations of a few chords.

Another simple, melodic song – also with a few versions of similar chords.  Not too many notes, yet memorable.
